A brilliant start to July for us with two more of our Neighbourhood Plans getting YES votes in their referendums!
The Joint Melksham Plan – a neighbourhood plan that covers both the town of Melksham and the surrounding rural area of Melksham Without and 84% voted YES for the plan.
The neighbourhood plan for the market town and the rural area tackled a number of complex issues including high levels of development pressure. We worked hard with the steering group and community to make sure that the neighbourhood plan was also an accessible and approachable document (not easy for a planning document!), which included preparing a mini guide to the neighbourhood plan.
This community had worked hard on their plan for around 4 years before the Place Studio team were brought on board to help them to progress through the formal stages. We are pleased to say that the Plan is already making a difference.
“The difference since Place Studio came on board to help us with this Neighbourhood Plan has been immeasurable” Joint Melksham Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group member
We were also pleased that the community of Broad Chalke, near Salisbury voted yes for their plan which we supported the steering group in delivering.
