It’s been a busy few months at Place Studio. As we continue life and work in a ‘post-pandemic’ world, our team has been getting into the groove of flexible working, moving house, starting school and enjoying being able to get out and see each other again!

We’ve started a number of exciting new projects and have a new member of our team – welcome, James!

Alongside our project work we’ve been continuing our important work contributing to national-level training and events.

Following our work in the summer, Jeff Bishop led a session about community involvement in character assessment as part of a national online training series on the National Model Design Code led by Urban Design London. We are looking forward to getting stuck into some practical work linked to Design Codes and Guidance with the Forest of Dean District Council this winter.

We’ve been working with communities to look at High Street regeneration, and continuing to enjoy working on Neighbourhood Plans.

We’ve also been attending lots of really interesting events and webinars, learning about a range of topics from high street regeneration, to (really cute) electric vehicles, to self-build housing. We’re also looking forward to the Festival of the Future City this week, a biennial event here in Bristol which always sparks lots of interesting conversation and ideas!
