When we’ve sat down and thought about what we wanted Place Studio to be as a company (over 10 years ago now!), we reflected on our values and discussed how those should define, and guide us as a small business.
In his famous TEDx Talk, business leader Simon Sinek talks about the importance of knowing your “why.”
For us, Place Studio’s “why” has always been about connecting people, places, needs and aspirations. To enable development that is locally responsive and sustainable. We’ve refined this over the years, and delivered our “why” through a range of projects.
This year, we’ve decided to try and measure how Place Studio’s “why” has a social impact. Social impact can be defined as the effect on people and communities that happens as a result of an action (or inaction), an activity, project, programme or policy. (Thanks to goodfinace.org.uk for this definition. We quite like it.)
