Client: Art at the Edge and B&NES Council

Overview:
In November 2011, Place were appointed by Art at the Edge and B&NES Council to provide urban design and planning support to art’s charity, Art at the Edge that were proposing a six month external exhibition of Olympic inspired life sized sculptures installations across Bath city centre.

Place undertook all sites analysis and stakeholder engagement within B&NES Council and with key amenity and conservation groups and liaison directly with lead artists.

Place prepared all planning material including design and access statement and application drawings and montages.

Outcome:
We secured planning consent for the exhibition, which was installed on time for to welcome the Olympic torch relay through the city. Place were then appointed to develop and secure planning permission to enable temporary public art within Bath World Heritage site as part of its arts and cultural programme.
